The support of the ITC sunset by SEIA is a bit disappointing to me. When dealing with congress, SEIA should take a hardline role and advocate for nothing less than the status quo. No other trade advocacy group would pursue a reasonable approach, whether it is oil & gas or other large trade group. Solar has gained a lot of support in terms of growth in capacity, jobs and revenues. It outpaces the other sectors of the economy and lowering support by congress would be bad for the economy. The solar industry shouldn’t accept reasonable, it should push for full continuation of the ITC.
