The BNEF Energy Outlook came out early yesterday and it has about 60 pages of good news. Some of the highlights include 30% of energy by 2040 will be wind and solar so get ready for the hockey stick curve going forward. More importantly, even in a declining cost environment, over $7 Trillion in capital deployment for wind and solar. Storage also makes some gains and matches some aspects of solar by 2028. Getting all of that energy into the grid will require some serious development work which means that development platforms will have to be put to work in a big way.
